ACCESSORIES - INSPIRING WORLD
I want to share with my thoughts about jewellery and accessories with which we may have sentimental feelings, emotions and memories. I don’t know about your experience, but I definitely have such pieces: rings, pendants, necklaces and bracelets.
I remember my first sterling silver ring. I got it when I was quite small girl. My older sister had one and I wanted similar piece. We with mum visited department store and I got my. I clearly remember my fillings when I put it for the first time on my finger. I grew up, but still tried to put it on my finger. I believed that the ring brings me good luck. I even went to the jeweller to make it bigger.
I received as gifts from my parents and relatives different sterling silver and gold jewellery. Very important for me still are two gold rings which I have from my grand dad’s sister. Aunt’s nickname was Loveaunt, we with sister gave this name to our most loved aunt. We have so many positive memories about spent time together.
I started to collect my own accessory collection when I was teenager. The strong impact was from 90s fashion tendencies. I made crazy earrings from 2 toy ninjas. I was 17 and I felt like most stylish girl in the Riga. I still have some items from that collection, but it is kept in the box very far from all eyes.
My boyfriend presented me different jewellery at important life events these jewels are very significant and beloved. As well I have bracelets and rings from trips all over the world, these jewels reminds me sweet times, adventures and nice places which I have visited in Mexico, India, USA, Vietnam, Japan, Canada etc.
Here's the thing: Buying for the sake of accessorizing doesn't interest me in the least. Admittedly, my collection is almost solely comprised of daily-wear items and isn't terribly expansive for this same reason. Yes, I'm a jewellery designer, and I wear the same jewellery almost every day.
Every piece I own is linked to a memory, a story, a person — and, that's exactly the way I like it.
And here I come to conclusion that it is the reason why I have developed jewellery brand 3 wind knots and we are creating pieces with story that inspires and motivates. Our deep wish is to create pieces that could become sentimental from somebody else.
What about you? Do you have jewellery with sentimental feelings?
